Warranty Policy
Warranty Coverage Overview
Every fence we install carries two separate warranties, and it is worth knowing which is which. The material itself is covered by the warranty of the manufacturer that produced it. The installation is covered by us.
Vinyl material: transferable limited lifetime warranty from the manufacturer
Aluminum material: 20-year aluminum, 10-year powder coating, 2-year steel components, from the manufacturer
Installation: 5-year workmanship warranty from Pro Vinyl & Aluminum Fencing, on both materials
Pro Vinyl & Aluminum Fencing is an installer, custom fabricator and wholesaler. We do not produce raw vinyl or aluminum, so the material warranties below are the manufacturers’ commitments rather than ours. We stand behind our own work under the workmanship warranty in Part III, and we will help you file a material claim when one is needed.
Part I: Vinyl Material Warranty
Who is Covered and For How Long
Single-family residential property: a limited lifetime warranty that begins on the date of purchase. It extends to the original purchaser and may be transferred once, to one subsequent property owner. After that transfer, the warranty runs for thirty (30) years from the original date of purchase.
All other property, meaning commercial, HOA, corporate, governmental, institutional, multi-family and similar: a thirty (30) year limited warranty from the original date of purchase. This coverage is not transferable.
Registration
The vinyl material warranty has to be registered with the manufacturer within thirty (30) days of purchase. We file that registration for you and hand you the documentation, so there is nothing for you to do and no deadline for you to watch. Keep the paperwork with your proof of purchase. If it goes missing, ask us and we will send another copy.
What is Covered
The manufacturer warrants that the vinyl is free from defects in material and workmanship, specifically against:
- Structural integrity: cracking, splitting, splintering or breaking under normal use
- Surface protection: peeling, flaking, blistering or chipping
- Durability: warping, rotting or deterioration of the vinyl
- Corrosion resistance: rusting or corrosion of embedded components
- Weather resistance: abnormal discoloration or fading beyond normal weathering¹
¹Normal fading. Every vinyl product outdoors fades gradually, and that is normal weathering rather than a defect. Fading up to Delta E 5 is treated as normal. Beyond that it is abnormal, and it is covered.
Part II: Aluminum Material Warranty
Who is Covered and For How Long
Aluminum coverage is component-based rather than a single term.
Single-family residential property:
- Aluminum materials, twenty (20) years
- Powder coating, solid colors and woodgrain, ten (10) years
- Powder-coated steel components, two (2) years
This coverage may be transferred once, to one subsequent property owner. Written notice to the manufacturer is required within sixty (60) days of the property transfer. Contact us and we will help you file it.
HOA, strata, corporate and commercial property: aluminum materials and coating for ten (10) years, powder-coated steel components for two (2) years. Not transferable.
What is Covered
- Aluminum: cracking, rotting, warping, separating or splintering
- Coatings: peeling, cracking, separating or abnormal fading
- Steel components: cracking, chipping, flaking, peeling, splitting, and rust perforation
Two Conditions That Affect Aluminum Coverage
These matter in our service areas, so please read them rather than skip them.
Cleaning every six months is mandatory. The aluminum material warranty stays valid only if the fence is cleaned at least every six months with a neutral pH detergent, between pH 5 and pH 8, and only if that cleaning is documented. Keep a simple record of the dates.
Saltwater and coastal exposure are excluded. The aluminum material warranty does not cover damage caused by saltwater or salt air, and pool chemicals are excluded as well. If your property sits close to the ocean, or the fence surrounds a pool, talk to us before you settle on aluminum, so you choose knowing what the warranty does and does not back.
Part III: Installation Workmanship Warranty (5 Years)
This one is ours. Pro Vinyl & Aluminum Fencing provides a five-year workmanship warranty on every installation we perform, on both vinyl and aluminum.
The workmanship warranty covers:
- Installation quality: defects in workmanship, including improper post setting, panel alignment or gate installation
- Structural stability: instability caused by installation error
- Hardware function: proper operation of gates, latches and installed hardware
- Labor included: repair or reinstallation of defective workmanship, at no charge
The workmanship warranty does not cover:
- Customer modifications: changes, additions or alterations made by you or by anyone else after installation
- Normal settling: minor settling or adjustment that occurs naturally over time
- External damage: vehicles, animals, weather events or the actions of third parties
- Maintenance issues: problems that follow from a lack of proper care
What No Warranty Covers
Neither the material warranties nor the workmanship warranty covers damage or deterioration caused by:
- Improper installation: work that does not meet industry standards or manufacturer specifications, where that work was not ours
- Misuse or abuse: improper use, vandalism or intentional damage
- Acts of nature: fire, earthquake, flood, lightning, hail, hurricane, tornado, extreme winds or other natural disasters
- Environmental factors: animals, impact from foreign objects, or exposure to chemicals not intended for use on fencing
- Ground movement: settling, shifting, collapse or movement of the ground or of adjacent structures
- Normal wear: normal weathering, minor scratches from regular use, standard environmental aging
- Third-party products: components, hardware or accessories neither supplied nor installed by Pro Vinyl & Aluminum Fencing
- Modification: any alteration or structural change made to the original installation
Making a Claim
Step 1: Document it. Photograph the affected area from several angles, note the date you noticed the problem, and find your proof of purchase and your installation date.
Step 2: Contact us. Call (844) 744-0707 or email quotes@provinylfencing.com with the photos, your documentation and a description. Report the problem within thirty (30) days of noticing it.
Step 3: We route it. Workmanship claims we handle ourselves. Material claims go to the manufacturer, and we will help you file them and follow them through. Either way, you deal with us.
Step 4: Inspection and resolution. We reserve the right to inspect before any replacement. Where a material defect is covered, the manufacturer replaces the defective material at no charge. Material warranties do not include labor, so removal, disposal and installation of replacement material are not part of them. Labor is covered under our own workmanship warranty while it is in force.
Remedy and Limitations
Transfer of Warranty
Both material warranties may be transferred once, to one subsequent property owner, on single-family residential property. The vinyl warranty then runs for the remainder of its term from the original purchase date. The aluminum warranty requires written notice to the manufacturer within sixty (60) days of the property transfer. Our five-year workmanship warranty continues for the remainder of its original term, measured from the installation date. Contact us when a property changes hands and we will help with the paperwork.
Product Availability
Products, colors and styles may be discontinued or changed without notice. If the original product is unavailable, a substitute of comparable quality and value will be used. Replacement material may differ in color or texture from material that has already weathered on your property.
Liability Limitations
MAXIMUM LIABILITY: the total liability of Pro Vinyl & Aluminum Fencing under the workmanship warranty shall not exceed the price paid for the installation service concerned. Liability under a material warranty rests with the manufacturer that issued it.
EXCLUDED DAMAGES: Pro Vinyl & Aluminum Fencing shall not be liable for consequential, incidental, special or punitive damages, including but not limited to property damage, landscaping costs, loss of use or other indirect costs.
TIME LIMITATION: any legal action relating to this warranty must be commenced within one (1) year after the cause of action accrues.
Legal Provisions

This warranty is intended to comply with the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act and other applicable California consumer protection laws. Where state law gives you greater protection, that law applies.
Entire Agreement
This document sets out the whole of the workmanship warranty between Pro Vinyl & Aluminum Fencing and the purchaser, and describes the manufacturer material warranties as they stood when it was published. Severability
If any provision of this warranty is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
Legal Rights
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights that vary from state to state. Some states do not allow limitations on implied warranties or the exclusion of consequential damages, so the limitations above may not apply to you.
