Vinyl and Aluminum Fencing for Glendale Homes

Vinyl and aluminum are the two materials we work in, and for Glendale homes we install and custom-fabricate both. Glendale homes run from flat blocks near Downtown and the Americana to hillside lots in Chevy Chase Canyon, and the right fence is rarely the same on both. Every fence we sell, we build to your yard, not a stock catalog, so height, style, and layout fit the property.

Our Vinyl Fences: Style, Height, and Wind Strength

Vinyl is our budget-friendly line, covering most of what a Glendale home needs: privacy, curb appeal, and a finish that never yellows or needs paint. The style range is wide:

  • Full privacy and semi-privacy panels, from a solid screen to a spaced board that keeps some airflow.
  • Picket, ranch rail, and lattice-top styles for a lighter, decorative look.
  • Pool fencing, matching gates, and wall toppers for a block wall.

Custom heights run 2 to 8 feet, so the odd runs and small jobs other crews skip are the ones we want. Where a Glendale lot catches canyon wind, we run a hidden metal insert: vinyl outside, metal inside, and it takes any realistic wind this area gets.

Aluminum Fencing for a Premium Look

Aluminum is our premium line: modern, architectural, and engineered to shrug off weather without rust or repaint. It suits a Glendale home after a crisp, modern look, from full-privacy screens to open picket, with welded driveway and rolling gates, automation-ready. Heights are custom from 2 to 12 feet, 6 feet the usual pick, and its wind engineering runs well above what a Glendale site sees.

What Does a Fence Cost in Glendale?

A fence price comes down to your project, never a sticker. What moves it: material, the run’s height and length, terrain, gates, and old-fence removal. Glendale’s hillside and canyon lots can add slope and access work a flat parcel never sees. You get a ballpark over the phone, then a firm written number after we walk the property, free and with no pressure to book.

Warranties and Proof You Can Check

Every vinyl fence carries a transferable limited lifetime warranty. Aluminum carries 20 years on the material, 10 on the powder coating, and 2 on steel components, kept valid by a documented cleaning twice a year. Both add our own 5-year workmanship warranty. The proof is public, too: in business since 2018, American Fence Association membership, and a 5.0 rating from homeowners across Greater LA, on 500+ five-star reviews.

Services We Offer in Glendale

The full vinyl and aluminum lineup we install and build for Glendale covers privacy and picket panels, gates, pool fencing and wall toppers, every piece fabricated to the property it goes on.

Colors on Both Sides

A building and a back yard get judged by different eyes, so what looks right on one can read wrong on the other. Vinyl runs the wider list, aluminum the shorter, and both hold their color without paint.

The Vinyl Swatch Groups

White never flashes out from under a chip here; the color is the material, not a layer over it. Solids stay plain, smooth wood grains bring warmth, textured blends push furthest. Pair two of them and you get a two-tone run.

  • Tan
  • Clay
  • Gray
  • Coastal Cedar
  • Dark Walnut
  • Dark Sequoia
  • Weathered Aspen

  • Sierra Blend
  • Weathered Blend

Pro Vinyl and Aluminum Fencing partners with Catalyst, one of the leading vinyl fence manufacturers in the United States. Their US-made vinyl, our custom fabrication and installation, backed by a transferable limited lifetime material warranty.

Finish on the Metal

Paint sits on metal. Powder coat is fused to it, applied dry and cured with heat, which is why the color holds through full sun. The range is narrow by comparison: three on solid and slatted profiles, matte black on contoured slats.

  • Black
  • WoodGrain
  • White

Pro Vinyl and Aluminum Fencing is a trained and authorized SLEEKFENCE™ contractor. SLEEKFENCE™ is a premium-class aluminum fencing brand registered in the USA – their engineered material, our custom fabrication and welded install, with a 20-year material warranty behind it.

How the Height Is Set

A business perimeter and a home yard start from different needs, and the style already caps the top of the range before either weighs in. The lot cuts into that, and the city sets a ceiling nobody moves.

Glendale Fence Rules and Local Conditions

About Glendale

Glendale sits in Los Angeles County, tucked against the Verdugo Mountains with the San Rafael Hills to the south, about 10 miles north of Downtown LA. Incorporated in 1906, it is home to roughly 188,000 residents, from Downtown and the Americana to Montrose, Sparr Heights, Adams Hill, and hillside Chevy Chase Canyon. A flat urban lot and a sloped canyon parcel call for different fences.

Downtown Glendale's own skyline sits close by, with a much taller skyline rising far beyond it

How Tall Can a Fence Be in Glendale?

A front or street-side fence tops out at 4 feet and must sit at least 5 feet back from the curb (GMC 30.21.040). Side and rear fences reach about 6.5 feet, with any portion above that at least 50 percent open (GMC 30.11.070). Over 7 feet needs a building permit, as do retaining walls 4 feet and up.

F (Fence) Overlay streets limit the front to 42 inches and 50 percent open, and hillside zones (R1R, R1, ROS) add review over 3 feet. We build custom to what your zone allows; always verify the specifics with Glendale Planning or Building and Safety.

Fencing for Glendale’s Hillsides and Canyons

Most of the year Glendale is calm, but Santa Ana winds arrive in the fall, usually October to December, and homes against the Verdugos and San Rafael Hills catch stronger gusts as the air funnels through the canyons. That is where our metal-insert vinyl earns its keep and aluminum’s higher wind engineering pays off.

Shared Fences, Pools, and HOA Rules

If a fence sits on the property line, California’s Good Neighbor Fence Act (Civil Code 841) presumes neighbors share the cost equally and asks for 30 days’ written notice. Pool barriers must be at least 60 inches tall with no child-sized gaps and self-closing, self-latching gates, and vinyl is an approved non-climbable material. Many Glendale HOAs also set style, height, and color rules in the CC&Rs, so check yours first.

When a Fence Needs a Permit in Glendale

In Glendale a building permit is required once a fence tops 7 feet, and for a retaining wall 4 feet or taller. Rules vary by zone, so verify the specifics with Glendale Building and Safety.

Two-Tone Privacy Fence, Glendale

This Glendale property had a small painted wood enclosure on a tiled patio beside the house entry. That structure was taken out to make room for a vinyl privacy fence in the same spot.

The new fence is a two-tone vinyl privacy design in tan and white, finished with a white lattice section along the top edge, installed at the entry in place of the old wood enclosure. Rather than digging new footings, the posts were anchored directly into the existing tiled patio.

Very thorough estimate, helpful staff and quick, and clean installation. Not to mention a reasonable price. Would highly recommend this company.

Before installation, a covered tiled patio contains an older white paneled enclosure, ladder, and low retaining wall.BeforeAfter

Common Questions

Fencing in Glendale: Your Questions Answered

Quick, honest answers to what Glendale homeowners ask most: how tall a fence can be, when a permit comes into play, what drives the cost, how our fences handle Santa Ana wind, which neighborhoods we cover, and how local HOA rules fit in. Not seeing yours? Ask, and we will walk through it.

Still have a question?

Reach out for a free, no-pressure conversation about your project.

In Glendale, front and street-side fences top out at 4 feet, while side and rear fences can reach about 6.5 feet, with anything above that at least 50 percent open.

Go over 7 feet and you will need a building permit. F-overlay streets and hillside zones can be stricter, so verify your specific zone.

Usually not for a standard fence under 7 feet on a normal lot. A building permit is required over 7 feet, and for retaining walls 4 feet and up or fences next to a slope or right-of-way.

F-overlay and hillside zones add rules, so verify the specifics with Glendale Planning.

They can. Cost tracks the material, height, length, gates, and old-fence removal, and a sloped canyon lot often adds grading and access work a flat parcel never needs.

We do not quote from a price list. You get a phone ballpark, then a firm written number after we walk the property.

They can stress a poorly built fence, especially on canyon lots near the Verdugos where gusts pick up speed.

A footed vinyl fence with our hidden metal insert, metal inside and vinyl outside, handles the wind Glendale realistically gets, and aluminum is engineered higher still.

All of Glendale, from Downtown and the Americana to Montrose and Sparr Heights, Adams Hill, and hillside Chevy Chase Canyon, plus the nearby Greater LA communities.

Estimates are free city-wide, and we answer inquiries the same business day, so you are never waiting long to start.

Often, yes. Many Glendale HOAs set their own style, height, and color rules in the CC&Rs, on top of city code.

We build to whatever your HOA and the city both allow, so review your CC&Rs with your HOA and confirm any height limits with Glendale Building and Safety before you plan.
