Vinyl and Aluminum Fencing in Simi Valley

In Simi Valley, we install and custom-fabricate vinyl and aluminum fencing at the heights your property and the city’s code allow.

The goal is simple: the right material for your yard, built to Simi Valley’s own rules and its wind and sun, and priced only after a real look at the property. Expect an honest ballpark up front and a firm number once we walk the job.

Two materials, built for Simi Valley yards

Simi Valley lots run from ranch-style frontages to newer tract yards, and the right fence depends on the property. In Simi Valley we work in two materials: vinyl and aluminum, both installed and custom-fabricated in-house.

Vinyl is the budget-friendly pick, offered in privacy, semi-privacy, picket, and lattice-top styles across fourteen colors, including woodgrains that read like real timber. Aluminum is the premium line: clean, modern, powder-finished, and made to shrug off sun and weather without paint. We match the style, height, and color to your home, never a stock catalog.

What actually drives your fence cost

No two Simi Valley fences carry the same price, because a handful of real things set it. Material comes first, with vinyl at the friendlier end and aluminum at the premium end. Then height and total footage, since a taller run and a longer property line both take more material and more labor.

Gates add to it, and so does pulling out an old fence before the new one goes up. The ground matters too: a sloped lot or a tight side-yard entry asks more of a crew than a flat, open run. Over the phone you can get a ballpark; a firm number comes after we walk the property.

Built for Santa Ana wind and valley heat

Simi Valley fills an open valley where Santa Ana winds pour through the passes in fall and winter, and summers run hot and dry. A flimsy fence shows it fast. For exposed runs we build privacy vinyl over a hidden metal insert: it looks like vinyl on the outside, but there is metal inside, and it takes any realistic wind this area gets.

The vinyl also holds its color and never yellows in the sun, so a white fence stays white through years of valley heat. Aluminum meets the same conditions its own way, with a powder-coated finish that resists UV and weather without a repaint.

Custom heights and smaller jobs

Because we fabricate in-house, height is not off-the-shelf. Vinyl runs a custom 2 to 8 feet and aluminum up to 12, so a fence can meet the 42-inch front-yard cap out front and step up to a full 6 feet along the side and rear.

Odd runs, a single panel, a gate to match an existing fence, a wall topper for a block wall: none of it is too small to take on. The work is backed in writing, with a transferable limited lifetime warranty on vinyl, 20 years on aluminum material, 10 on its finish, and 2 on steel components, plus our own 5-year workmanship warranty.

Services we offer in Simi Valley

Around Simi Valley the work runs across both materials: privacy and picket fences, gates made to match, and wall toppers that add height to a wall already standing.

Two Sets of Swatches

By now the hard parts are settled: style, height, where the run goes. Tone is what is left. One list here gives you real room to move; the other gives very little, and nothing on either one gets touched up later.

Vinyl: Three Groups

Nobody picks from fourteen squares at once. Take the group first: four solids that stay flat, six grains milled to read like timber, four blends with relief under your palm. The square inside the group comes second.

Metal Finishes

Do not expect symmetry with the range above. Pick a contoured slat and matte black settles it. The other styles add two, black and white joining Wood Grain. None of this is paint: dry powder, a charge, then heat.

Getting the Height Right

Availability is rarely the constraint. What a style can reach is one limit, what the city allows is another, and the number your yard actually needs usually sits under both. Settle all three before anyone measures.

Fencing Across Simi Valley, California

Simi Valley: its own Ventura County city

Simi Valley is its own city, incorporated on October 10, 1969, and it sits in southeastern Ventura County, not Los Angeles County or the City of LA. Locals sometimes fold it into the San Fernando Valley next door, but Simi Valley fills its own broad valley on the far side of the Santa Susana Mountains, about 37 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles.

The Simi Hills and Santa Susana Mountains ring the valley, and that open bowl is what channels the Santa Ana winds you feel in fall and winter. Its history runs from Hollywood’s old Western movie ranches, Corriganville among them, up to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library on the hilltop above town.

Today it’s a family suburb that lands on California’s safest-cities lists. For a fence, the practical part is jurisdiction: your rules come from the City of Simi Valley, not Los Angeles.

Fence rules in Simi Valley

Simi Valley’s fence heights come from the city’s own Municipal Code, Title 9, Section 9-30.050. In a front yard, a solid fence, wall, or hedge is generally capped at 42 inches; a see-through style like open picket can reach up to 6 feet total with Planning Director approval, and anything over 42 inches in the front setback triggers a Zoning Clearance review.

Along the side and rear, fences generally run up to 6 feet, or up to 8 feet next to arterial streets and commercial zones with a Zoning Clearance.

A building permit is usually not required up to 6 feet, though a garden wall over 6 feet or a retaining wall can need one.

Corner lots and driveways add one more rule: inside the Traffic Safety Sight Area, a fence is held to about 24 inches in the public right-of-way and 36 inches on private property, so drivers keep clear sight lines. Rules vary by zone and lot, so verify the specifics with the City of Simi Valley Planning and Building & Safety Divisions.

White Vinyl Driveway Gate

This Simi Valley driveway had an old double gate built from white-painted wood, set into an opening between two masonry sides. Our crew removed the wood gate as part of replacing it with vinyl.

In its place, we installed a white vinyl double privacy gate. It was built to fit the same opening between the masonry sides and is anchored into the concrete driveway, so the new gate lines up with the existing entrance rather than requiring changes to the masonry or the driveway.

Super good job. Price was more then fair, cleaned up all the mess , I highly recommend PRO VINL FENCING..

Common Questions

Fencing in Simi Valley: Common Questions

Fencing in Simi Valley brings a handful of local questions, mostly about height limits, permits, corner-lot sight lines, and which material stands up to the valley’s wind and sun. Below are honest answers to the ones homeowners here ask most. If yours is not here, reach out.

Have another question?

Call the team for honest answers and a free, no-pressure fence estimate.

In Simi Valley, a solid front-yard fence, wall, or hedge is capped at 42 inches in the front setback.

A see-through style can reach 6 feet total with Planning Director approval, and anything over 42 inches out front needs a Zoning Clearance. Verify specifics with the City’s Planning Division.

Corner lots and driveways fall inside Simi Valley’s Traffic Safety Sight Area, where a fence is held to about 24 inches in the public right-of-way and 36 inches on private property.

These limits sit below the usual 42-inch front-yard rule, so a corner lot is worth checking with the City first.

For a typical residential fence, Simi Valley usually needs no building permit up to 6 feet; a garden wall over 6 feet or a retaining wall can, and a front fence over 42 inches needs a Zoning Clearance.

As its own Ventura County city, Simi Valley sets these rules, so verify with the City, not LA.

Simi Valley’s dry summers and Santa Ana gusts test a flimsy fence.

On exposed runs we build privacy vinyl around a hidden metal insert: vinyl on the surface, reinforcement within that holds against any wind the valley sends. The vinyl never yellows, and aluminum shrugs off the sun.

A few real things set it: the material and style, the height, how many linear feet you need, gates, whether an old fence has to come out, and site access.

We give you a ballpark once we understand the project, and a firm number after a quick on-site look. No two Simi Valley yards price out the same.

Some Simi Valley communities have a homeowners association, and if yours does, approval may be required before a fence goes in, often with its own limits on height, style, or color on top of the city’s code.

Check your community’s rules early so your design fits both.
