Vinyl and Aluminum Fencing in Arleta

For Arleta homes near Branford Park or off Woodman Avenue, we build vinyl and aluminum fencing lot by lot, LA code and all.

Every yard here calls for something different, whether that means a tall privacy run for a corner lot or an open picket line facing the street. Browse the styles below, or describe your fence and get a free estimate.

Vinyl privacy, picket, pool, and ranch fencing

Vinyl covers most Arleta yards well. Privacy panels lock tongue-and-groove with no gap, good for the closer-set lots off Sheldon Street and Branford Street. Picket runs keep the open, traditional line along a front yard, and pool enclosures meet the barrier code that keeps a backyard pool climb-resistant and self-latching.

Ranch rail suits the wider parcels near Terra Bella Street. With more than ten colors and ten styles on the line, color runs through the material itself, so a scrape never flashes white and the panel will not yellow under the Valley’s long, hot summers.

Aluminum fencing for a modern front yard

Where the look leans modern and architectural, aluminum steps up. The lineup covers privacy, semi-privacy, and picket, with slats that close for full screening or open for airflow, finished in black, white, or a wood-grain tone.

The coating carries an ASTM E84 Class A flame and smoke rating, and the metal itself is warranted for 20 years, the coating for 10, steel components for 2, on top of our own 5-year workmanship. Being inland, Arleta sees none of the salt-air wear a coastal yard would, which is one less thing to plan around here.

Gates, wall toppers, and custom heights from 2 to 8 ft

Gates are built to match whichever style you choose, sized from a single walk-through to a wide driveway span with the extra internal framing it takes to stay true for years and accept an automation kit whenever you’re ready.

Where a block or concrete wall already stands, a topper adds height and screening right on top of it rather than tearing it down. Heights run 2 to 8 ft and get racked to the lot’s slope. Short runs, corner lots, and odd angles are all welcome, work many crews would rather turn down.

What shapes the cost of an Arleta fence?

Total footage, height, material, the number of gates, how much the lot slopes, and whether an old fence needs to come out first all move the final number.

Corner lots near Van Nuys Boulevard or Laurel Canyon Boulevard sometimes carry sight-line rules that add an extra planning step too. A real figure means seeing the yard in person, so the estimate stays free, on-site, and comes back the same business day rather than a rough phone guess.

Services we offer in Arleta

Vinyl and aluminum both get built throughout Arleta and the wider Valley, from full privacy to open picket, matching gates included, every run custom-fit to your particular lot line.

Picking a Color in Arleta

Valley sun is the honest test. It works a west-facing run for hours and finds out any finish that cannot take it. Both materials hold their tone through that; they differ in how many tones each one gives you to start with.

Vinyl, by Family

Four flat solids handle the straightforward jobs. The smooth grain group runs six deep, Slate Gray and Dark Sequoia in there, putting a milled face on a panel. Four textured blends finish it. Sections can differ from each other.

What Aluminum Comes In

Off Woodman Avenue the aluminum mostly goes black, sometimes white, occasionally a grain finish. Matte black is the single option on a contoured slat. Powder coat bonds under heat instead of resting on the surface, so sun cannot lift it.

Where Height Comes From

A number on its own means nothing. What the fence is for narrows it, then the lot does, then the rule that applies to that stretch of line. Spans per style sit in the table, vinyl and aluminum side by side in one place.

  • All went well. My estimate (from David) included two options with all the detail needed for the build and pricing that did not change. The installer (Chris) was skilled and hard working, resulting in an excellent build.

My project included a short vinyl fence, driveway gate, and some fence topper. Recommended.

Fencing in Arleta, Los Angeles

A San Fernando Valley neighborhood

Arleta sits in the San Fernando Valley, part of the City of Los Angeles, split off from Pacoima and recognized as its own neighborhood in 1968. It covers roughly four square miles, bounded loosely by Paxton Avenue, Laurel Canyon Boulevard, Tonopah Avenue, and Woodman Avenue, with Mission Hills and North Hills to the north, Sun Valley to the east, Pacoima to the northeast, and Panorama City to the west.

Van Nuys Boulevard, Woodman Avenue, and Arleta Avenue carry most of the through traffic, alongside Sheldon Street, Branford Street, Osborne Street, and Terra Bella Street, with Interstate 5 and State Route 170 both close by. Branford Park and Devonshire Arleta Park anchor the neighborhood’s open space.

What the Valley climate does to a fence

Arleta sits under a hot-summer Mediterranean climate, with long, dry summers running warmer than much of the LA Basin and short, mild winters with colder nights. That kind of sustained heat is hard on paint and finish over the years, which is exactly why vinyl’s color runs through the material instead of sitting on the surface: nothing to fade or flake under a Valley summer.

Being inland, with the San Gabriel Mountains to the northeast and the Santa Monica Mountains to the south, the neighborhood also sees none of the salt air that shortens a metal fence’s life along the coast.

LA fence height rules, in brief

As part of the City of Los Angeles, Arleta follows the Los Angeles Municipal Code rather than a separate city ordinance. LAMC keeps front yards at 3.5 ft. Side and rear lines get more room: 6 ft is the standard allowance, stretching to 8 ft on a wider R-zoned lot that sits away from hillside terrain, with Planning approval needed above that.

A vinyl fence only needs a building permit above 10 ft, though a masonry or concrete wall over 3.5 ft, or any retaining-wall fence, needs one regardless of height. Confirm your lot’s specifics with the City’s Planning Department before starting a project.

White Gate with Acrylic Accents

This Arleta property had an open side passage running between the house and an existing masonry wall, with a paved walkway underneath and no gate of any kind closing it off. Our crew fitted a white vinyl privacy gate into that gap, sized to the space between the house wall and the masonry.

The panel carries dark acrylic accent openings set into the white vinyl, breaking up the solid privacy surface. With the gate in place, that side passage is now enclosed rather than open air, matching into the existing masonry line instead of running past it.

Nairi provided exceptional service, exceeding my expectations. His professionalism and quality work on the vinyl fence were impressive. Highly recommend this company!

How Your Arleta Fence Job Gets Built

Our Process

Every Arleta job follows four fixed stages, whether it’s a small wall topper on a corner lot or a full privacy run behind a Van Nuys Boulevard home, with no step left unexplained and nothing added on partway through the build.

Nothing about the price moves after the contract is signed, and the same crew stays on the job start to finish.

  1. Free On-Site Visit

A salesman visits the property, measures each run and gate, and talks through material before leaving you a firm number.

  2. Written Contract

Before any post goes in, materials, colors, heights, and the full timeline get written into a signed contract.

  3. Clean, Careful Install

The crew sets posts, hangs panels and gates, racks each run to grade, and clears the old fence off-site after.

  4. Warranty and Aftercare

Vinyl is backed by a transferable lifetime warranty, aluminum by its 20/10/2-year terms, and our own 5-year workmanship.

Arleta Fence FAQs

Your Arleta Fencing Questions, All Answered

LA’s height rules, permits, HOA guidelines, and how Valley summer heat treats vinyl and aluminum fencing: these are the topics Arleta homeowners raise most often, from corner lots near Van Nuys Boulevard to quieter streets off Woodman Avenue. Below are direct answers, minus the usual runaround.

Have a question for us?

Reach out and a real person answers, no pressure attached, ever.

As part of the City of Los Angeles, Arleta follows the LA Municipal Code. Front yards top out at 3.5 ft, side and rear reach 6 ft, and wider R-zoned lots away from hillside areas can go to 8 ft.

Anything taller needs Planning approval, so confirm your lot’s zoning with the City first.

Usually not for vinyl at typical heights. A non-masonry fence like vinyl only needs an LADBS building permit above 10 ft, but a masonry or concrete wall over 3.5 ft, or any retaining-wall fence, needs one regardless of height.

Confirm your lot with the City’s Planning Department first.

Painted wood and coated metal give up their color eventually under a long Valley summer.

Vinyl’s pigment is mixed into the PVC itself, not applied afterward, so there’s no painted layer to bake, crack, or peel. A rinse twice a year covers the whole maintenance list.

Yes, especially for a clean, modern front-yard look.

Being inland, Arleta has none of the salt air that wears down metal fencing near the coast, so the aluminum line’s coating and structure hold up well here without the six-month cleaning routine coastal cities need.

Some Arleta properties fall under an HOA, and its rules can be stricter than LAMC on fence height, color, or style. Review your CC&Rs early, since a private HOA limit can override the city’s own baseline.
