Vinyl & Aluminum Fencing in Torrance

In Torrance we handle both vinyl and aluminum: installed and custom-fabricated, matched to your yard by need, budget, and look.

What sets the work apart is local substance: Torrance runs its own fence code, splits between a coastal Riviera edge and an inland flatland, and calls for heights a stock panel cannot cover. We build to all of it, and the estimate is free.

The two fences we build for Torrance homes

Two materials cover most Torrance yards, and we build both. Vinyl is the budget-friendly line: it won’t rot, rust, or need paint, and the color runs through the material, not painted on top. It comes in 16 styles and 14 colors across three families, in heights from 2 to 8 feet, with matching gates.

Aluminum is the premium line, priced above vinyl, modern and clean: full-privacy, semi-privacy, and picket panels, welded gates, and custom heights from 2 to 12 feet. Neither wins by default; we match the one that fits your privacy, budget, and taste.

What shapes the cost of your Torrance fence?

No fence has a sticker price, because no two yards are the same. A handful of things move it: the material, the height and linear footage, the gate count, whether the old fence needs pulling, and how the ground lies.

A hillside lot above Torrance Beach and a flat Southwood tract usually price out differently for the same run of fence. We can hand you an honest ballpark over the phone. The real number comes after a free visit, once we measure the yard.

Coast or flatland: which material fits your Torrance yard?

Torrance splits in two, and so does the material answer. The Hollywood Riviera and the streets above Torrance Beach get real ocean air; the inland flatland, from Southwood to North Torrance, sits far enough back that salt barely matters. On the coastal edge, vinyl has the easy case: PVC does not corrode, rust, or rot, so salt does nothing to it.

Aluminum keeps its premium modern look anywhere, but read the warranty near the water. It covers 20 years on the aluminum, 10 on the coating, and 2 on steel components, but excludes saltwater and holds only with a cleaning documented every six months. Inland, that caveat rarely bites; on the Riviera slope, weigh it before you choose.

Fences taller than six feet, and the small jobs too

Standard privacy stops at 6 feet, but plenty of Torrance yards want more or less. We build vinyl from 2 to 8 feet and aluminum from 2 to 12 feet, so a taller privacy run or a mixed height down a slope gets built to fit, not forced from a stock panel.

Small jobs count too: a short return, a single gate, or a topper on an existing block wall, the work some crews turn down as too small. Anything over 6 feet may need a Torrance building permit, covered just below.

Services We Offer in Torrance

In Torrance we build the full vinyl and aluminum line: privacy and semi-privacy panels, picket, lattice-top and wall toppers, pool-code enclosures, and matching gates, each one fabricated to the measurements of the yard it goes into.

Color, Coast and Inland

Sea air on one side of the city, dry flatland on the other, and neither narrows the choice. The tone in a vinyl board runs right through it, and the coat on metal was fused by heat. Use decides this one, not the weather.

Three Faces of Vinyl

A flat solid gives you one even tone, white or tan doing most of that work. Milled wood grains lay visible timber lines across the face. Textured blends go deeper and more mottled. The style you build does not change them.

The Metal Answer, Briefly

Brevity is the honest word for the metal. A flat or slatted design takes a timber look, white or black. Contoured slats leave you matte black only, and no custom finish is made, so plan on what the swatches show.

How Much Needs Cover

Decide what has to be hidden and what does not. Plenty of boundaries earn full height along one stretch and much less along the rest. Each design in the table caps out somewhere, and the number allowed on your block caps the lot.

Fence Contractor Torrance: your local guide

From Old Torrance to the Hollywood Riviera

Torrance is a Los Angeles County city in the South Bay, incorporated in 1921 as a planned model city. Its downtown, Old Torrance, was laid out in 1912 by Frederick Law Olmsted Jr. and Irving Gill on a diagonal grid meant to catch the ocean breeze, and that original core still anchors the city today.

To the southwest, the Hollywood Riviera climbs a coastal hillside of ocean-view homes above Torrance Beach and Riviera Village, where the shoreline sits on Santa Monica Bay between Redondo Beach and Malaga Cove.

Most of Torrance, though, is flatland: the tract neighborhoods of Southwood, Walteria, and North and West Torrance, where yards are typically level and lots are regular. With roughly 140,000 residents, it ranks among the larger cities in the county, and its climate is mild and Mediterranean, marked by the June-Gloom marine layer that greys over many summer mornings.

For fencing, the geography matters: a hillside Riviera lot with a view to protect usually calls for different choices than a flat Southwood backyard, and we build for both.

Do Torrance’s fence rules affect your project?

Torrance is its own incorporated city, so it runs its own fence code rather than the county’s or the City of LA’s. Under the Torrance Municipal Code, a building permit is required for a fence or wall taller than 6 feet, and hedges are held to 4 feet. Retaining walls over 4 feet need a permit as well, and a pool barrier has to stand at least 5 feet under California’s pool-safety law.

In the Hollywood Riviera, the Hillside Overlay Zone adds view-preservation rules that can affect how tall a fence, hedge, or structure may be, so a hillside lot often carries limits a flatland lot does not.

On a shared boundary, California’s Good Neighbor Fence Act (Civil Code 841) presumes adjoining owners split the cost of a division fence and asks for 30 days’ written notice first. Because the specifics turn on your zone and lot, confirm your project with the City of Torrance Community Development Department before you build.

Torrance-area before and after installs

When a Torrance job is ready to show, it lands here as a paired set: the tired fence that came out, and the vinyl or aluminum run that went up instead, at the height and color the yard called for. Riviera hillside or flat inland tract, open a set and judge the finished result for yourself.

White Privacy Fence and Gate

This Torrance property had an open, low boundary along one side of the yard, the kind of line that marks a property edge without doing much to shield it from view. Our crew replaced that stretch with a full-height white vinyl privacy fence and a matching gate.

The new fence line runs alongside the existing paver walkway, following the soil strip next to it, and ties into an opening in the property’s masonry. With the side boundary now closed off to full height, that edge of the yard is no longer open to view.

Good job. Just today installed my new back fences and side doors. I will recommend them to my friends

How your Torrance fence project runs

Our Process

Your Torrance fence moves through four clear stages, none of them a surprise. It leads off with a free on-site visit, then a written contract covering scope, materials, height, and price, then the build, and finally the warranty handover.

One crew handles the whole job, cleans the site each day, and there is never pressure to sign on the spot.

  1. Free on-site estimate

We measure the run, look at access and any old fence to pull, and hand you an honest ballpark on the spot.

  2. A clear written contract

Scope, materials, height, timeline, and price all go in writing, so nothing about the job surprises you later.

  3. Build day, done right

Our own crew sets the footings, builds each panel to your yard, and clears away the mess before leaving.

  4. Warranty and aftercare

You get vinyl’s transferable limited lifetime warranty or aluminum’s 20/10/2, plus our own 5-year workmanship warranty.

How-To Guides

Good to Know

Fence questions from Torrance homeowners

Below are the questions we field again and again from Torrance owners: when a fence crosses the city permit line, whether the Hollywood Riviera sets its own limits, which material earns its keep near Torrance Beach, how tall we can build, and what really moves the price. Answers are short and straight.

Got a question for us?

Ask away, or grab a free on-site estimate whenever it suits you.

In Torrance, you need a building permit once a fence or wall tops 6 feet, and hedges are capped at 4 feet under the city’s own code, not the county’s.

A hillside or overlay lot can be stricter, so confirm the specifics with the City of Torrance Community Development Department before you build.

They can. The Hollywood Riviera sits in a Hillside Overlay Zone whose view-preservation rules can limit how tall a fence, hedge, or structure may be.

A Riviera lot often carries tighter limits than a flat inland one, so confirm your parcel with the City of Torrance before planning a taller run.

Near the water, vinyl has the simpler case: PVC will not rust, rot, or corrode, so salt does nothing to it.

Aluminum looks sharp too, but its warranty excludes saltwater and holds only with cleaning every six months. Inland, where most of Torrance sits, either lasts, so it is about look and budget.

Yes. Because we fabricate, not just assemble stock panels, vinyl runs 2 to 8 feet and aluminum 2 to 12 feet, cut to what your yard needs.

We also take the small jobs some crews pass on: a single gate, a short return, a topper on a block wall. Anything over 6 feet may need a Torrance building permit.

A few things: the material, fence height and total length, the gate count, whether old fencing needs pulling, and how level the ground is.

A hillside lot takes more work than a flat one. We can give an honest ballpark by phone, but the real number comes after a free on-site visit, no obligation.

All of it: Old Torrance, the Hollywood Riviera, Southwood, Walteria, and North and West Torrance, out into the neighboring South Bay as well.

Every estimate is free, and since we reply to inquiries the same business day, a Torrance job seldom sits waiting before it gets going.
